all alone!

yesterday was the first day I was all alone with the kids and it went really well. I have to say I was quite mortified at the thought of it especially when I woke up a 5am with a sore throat and flu like symptoms!!! But I actually managed to feed, clothe, and change both of them along with cleaning up the back yard making lasagna for dinner and doing 3 loads of laundry! I feel like super mom! Hopefully it will last since after being off for nearly 3 weeks francis is now back to work 7 days a week for 12 hour shifts for a whole month!!! I don't think HE minds though he said the "cinderella" work he has been doing (cooking cleaning looking after Jacob almost full time...the things I usually do ) is way harder and he just wants to go back to sitting in his crane!!!! I think I should put him on that show where the mom goes to a spa for the weekend and the dad gets to stay at home with the kids! Now that there is two it would be a really interesting show!!!

pictures

Jacob bats his eyelashes when asked to smile for a picture...

Otto is a week and a half old here

Decided on a name

So I think we finally decided to call the baby Otto. Otto Joseph Korycki. Mind you Jacob had had a name for him for months now...Cartruck. So I guess his official name is "Cartruck Otto". We think Jacob really likes his new baby brother ( or baby sister as he sometimes likes to call him, he was really hoping for a princess!) and the other day he even fell asleep holding his hand...awwh!

Otto is doing great he's gained six ounces in six days and is 4 ounces past his birth weight in one and a half weeks. (the doctor said if they reach their birth weight in 2 weeks that is good so he is chubbing up fast!!!) He had a bit of Jaundice but a little bit of suntaning took care of that.

Francis is really great with the little guy and calls him Mini Me! If you are wondering why see previous blog!!! He didn't get to spend too much time with Jacob when he was born because he was away working lots so He really is enjoying being around.

Otto's first outing

All bundled up and ready to go...

He slept happily the whole time on his walk at Stanley Park while big brother Jacob discovered that his training wheels allow him to get high centered in puddles and if you pedal really fast you can get your whole backside covered in mud!

he is finally here

After nearly having him in the car ( with only Francis there to help...OH NO!!!!!) the newest member to the family arrived at 10:09 Sunday night. (We were still in the car @ 8:45 trying to find the entrance to the hospital.) He weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces or 2485 grams.

"....I am not sure I like it out here..."

...so?! am I an Otto or an Owen?

let it snow, let it snow

This is the weather in Vancouver today. This actually fell in like a few hours. Jacob and Mollie were loving it, until Mollie couldn't really walk from all the snowballs attached to her feet. I think you can actually see her shivering.

from the doctor

My earlier doctor's appointment has informed me that we could have the new member to the family any day now!!! This is GREAT because the house is in shambles due to the guest room remodel delay which has occured because Francis keeps getting called to work. Also we still haven't managed to pick out a crib and the spot we made for it to go is now full of stuff that we had to move from the guest room so we can do the floor. Francis was able to come to mhy appointment with me today and without fail went pale as a ghost at the mention of the baby coming in the next few days. But other than that WE ARE READY!!!

in the past year

Since I just started this blog I thought I would post a past years summary for those of you who don't know. We DO live in Surrey, but we own our OWN townhouse. It is 2 stories with 3 bedrooms, a walk-in closet, one and a hlf bathrooms, a small yard and it's own laundry room. (and yes that is our minivan parked in the driveway!!! yieyks). We are also expecting another baby, and yes, IT IS ANOTHER BOY!!! And we ARE considering calling him Otto. It is to even things out at the playground; for every Jacob there WON'T be an Otto. He is due to arrive on March 31. ( I will keep you posted!) So...
we have lived in our townhouse since May of last year and we really like it except for when we have to cross the Alex Fraser Bridge. If you think driving in Vancouver is bad try Surre. We have slowly been fixing up our place room by room just the way we want it/ This intails me having big ideas that Francis has to come home from work and put into action. This usually involves a lot of complaining on his part before, during and even after but he always ends up getting it done. Jacob's roomis the first to be finished although he still needs a closet. his room we made into a space room with a rocket window, a space light, bookshelf with a rocket lamp, and planets all over the walls. He has a bunk bed with a canopy of stars and a lounge underneath complete with a mickey mouse tv and dvd player so he can watch his movies. His recent favorites include "talking dogs" aka good boy, the polar express and thomas the tank engine.

this room was the biggest nightmare to paint

and it took about 3 days to dry

in the end we were really happy at how it turned out
